Part-Time Seasonal Farm Crew Positions
JOIN OUR TEAM
We are hiring multiple part-time seasonal Farm Crew positions from March - November for 15-20 hours per week.
About our Farm:
We are two sisters who grow seasonal fresh cut flowers on 2 acres for the community in Colorado Springs. Our passion is sharing flowers with others and giving people an experience to remember on the farm. We host many events throughout the year that are themed around flowers, music, pumpkins and community building. We host five seasonal flower festivals around peak bloom times plus Rocky Mountain Flower Fest, Brunch & Blooms, You-Pick Flowers, Music & Blooms, as well as the annual Pumpkin Fest!
Our Workplace Culture:
We use flowers to grow community. We like to make the environment feel welcoming & inspiring with a sense of belonging.
We get to work ready to jump in. We strive for the highest quality work, and are always looking for more efficient ways to work. While days here are fast paced and intense, we also take time to joke around and have great conversations.
Job Description: The Farm Crew will be expected to work physically demanding, fast-paced tasks early in the morning, often doing repetitive tasks that require stamina (did we sell you on it yet! haha). In all seriousness, it can be a difficult job and isn't for everyone. But, we love every day we are working and we have learned that this job is for people who love physical labor, being outside, have a love of nature and can work quickly. While working on a flower farm sounds dreamy, the job is dirty and also hugely rewording with the perk of flowers!
The Farm Crew will assist the Farm Manager with the following tasks:
Field Maintenance: Bed prep, seed starting, weeding, irrigation management, transplanting, installing support netting, applying compost tea, etc. Essentially all the tasks necessary to grow a beautiful flower from seed to bloom in the field.
Harvesting: We do sell some flowers to a flower collective for florist sales, which means once per week we have a large harvest. Most of our flowers are sold at you-pick events on the farm.
Landscape Maintenance: Keep the Farm property looking nice for all of the events hosted at the Farm, which will mean mowing, weed-wacking, weeding garden beds, trimming trees, and general maintenance.
Event Prep: Because we are so heavily focused on agritourism (meaning we host many events with people visiting the farm) there will be projects focused on prepping for events. These might include decorating photo areas, setting up seating, moving furniture, cleaning buildings/spaces, working on signage, etc.
Special Projects: Each week will involve different projects depending on what is happening during that part of the season. Flexibility is important as projects pop-up based on various event needs and growing season challenges.
We will train as we go along in our farming processes so expect to receive feedback and be willing to make modifications. The farm hand will work as part of a team but will also be expected to work solo on certain tasks with efficiency.
Hours:
Generally, the Farm Crew will be asked to work 3-4 days per week Monday-Friday and the hours are generally from dawn and then a 5 hour shift. From June through August the hours are consistently from 6am - 11am. Which days you work are flexible but once established must stay consistent through the season. The position starts mid March 2026 and ends around mid November 2026. (Hours subject to change slightly depending on the month and light - i.e. we will start later in March, April, November and earlier in June, July, August)
There are other events such as Brunch & Blooms, Rocky Mountain Flower Fest, Music & Blooms and Pumpkin Fest where may have additional hours in the evenings and/or weekends if you would like to pick up extra hours.
Pay: This is a part-time seasonal hourly position. Our pay is $17 per hour. There are no paid benefits. Plus fresh flowers every week when in bloom!
Qualifications:
Prior farming or gardening experience preferred
Have proven experience doing manual labor, preferably outdoors
Are an early morning person ready to tackle the day
Are able to move through a list of tasks with an eye toward efficiency and planning for what is next
Have stamina for repetitive physical activity, such as transplanting thousands of flowers or weeding for long periods
Able to lift 50lbs such as heavy bags of soil or rolls of irrigation
Positive attitude even when it is hot outside and you have dirt on your face
Works quickly yet efficiently and can chat while still getting the work done.
